Area Code & Phone Number FAQs
Is a local phone number included with On-VoIP plans?
Yes! Every On-VoIP Residential ($15/mo) and Business ($20/mo) plan includes 1 phone number of your choice in any available US area code. There are no extra monthly number rental charges for your primary line.
Can I choose a phone number in an area code where I donβt physically live?
Yes! VoIP is completely location-independent. If your business is located in Chicago but serves clients in Orlando or New York, you can select a 407 or 212 number so local customers can reach you without long-distance dialing.
Can I add multiple phone numbers in different area codes to one account?
Yes. Additional local phone numbers can be added to any account for just $1.00 per month each (plus applicable state-regulated E911 and $0.40/mo Caller ID per number). You can route each number to different extensions, ring groups, or IVR menus.
